Cronmaster
Silent background task failures and scattered crontab files across Linux hosts make routine maintenance risky, which Cronmaster solves with a visual scheduling dashboard and live execution log viewer. Five-field cron expressions translate automatically into plain English alongside one-click schedule presets. Operators can create, comment, clone, pause, or delete scheduled jobs across single or multiple Linux users in seconds. A built-in script manager lets you write, duplicate, and organize reusable Bash scripts from starter templates right inside the browser. Turning on per-job execution logging wraps commands automatically to record standard output, standard error, start and finish timestamps, duration, and exit codes. Log retention policies keep disk usage bounded automatically. Long-running tasks stream their console output live over Server-Sent Events, and any job can be triggered on demand with a single click. Across the top of the workspace, real-time hardware telemetry cards report system uptime, CPU load, memory consumption, network throughput, and GPU utilization. Administrators can protect the interface with local password authentication, OpenID Connect single sign-on with group and role rules, or Bearer API keys for the full REST API. Running on a dedicated VPS on RepoCloud with guaranteed CPU, RAM, and SSD, full root SSH access, and a browser serial console. AGPL-3.0 licensed.
Benefits
- Direct Host Crontab Synchronization in Docker
- Reads and writes host crontab files directly from a multi-arch AMD64 or ARM64 container, ensuring scheduled jobs continue executing independently even if the web UI is offline.
- Real-Time Execution Logs via Server-Sent Events
- Stream live stdout and stderr output from running background jobs over SSE and review historical exit codes, execution durations, and timestamps with automatic log rotation.
- Built-In Bash Script Editor and Snippet Library
- Create, edit, clone, and delete reusable shell scripts directly in the browser using preloaded code snippets so complex automation stays organized outside raw crontab lines.
- OIDC Single Sign-On and REST API Automation
- Authenticate operators via PKCE or confidential OIDC providers with group and role filtering, and trigger or manage jobs programmatically through a Bearer-authenticated REST API.
Features
- Visual Cron Schedule Builder
- Create, pause, resume, clone, and comment on cron jobs across multiple host crontab users with instant plain-English schedule previews and quick interval presets.
- Automated Execution Log Wrapper
- Wraps logged cron commands to record start and completion timestamps, duration, exit codes, stdout, and stderr into per-job folders with age and count cleanup.
- Live SSE Log Streaming
- Pushes real-time job execution state transitions and live terminal output streams to the browser via Server-Sent Events alongside manual background or synchronous triggers.
- Browser Script and Snippet Manager
- Author and maintain Bash scripts in `/app/scripts` using customizable template snippets from `/app/snippets` for immediate assignment to scheduled cron tasks.
- Host System Telemetry Dashboard
- Displays real-time Linux host metrics including system uptime, CPU model and load, RAM allocation, network interface activity, and GPU status directly above your jobs.
- OIDC Authentication and REST API
- Supports Authentik, Keycloak, Auth0, Okta, Google, and Entra ID with `OIDC_USER_GROUPS` and `OIDC_USER_ROLES` claims plus `/api/cronjobs` endpoints secured by API keys.
