Halcyon Video

Friday night, 1994: you are standing in the Action aisle deciding what the weekend looks like, except the shelves are stocked with your own library and the store lives in your browser. Halcyon Video rebuilds that ritual in 3D around your Jellyfin, Plex, or Emby server, turning libraries into aisles and genres into signed sections you can walk. Pick a case off the shelf and it comes up in your hand at true rental proportions; flip it over for the synopsis, cast, runtime, ratings, and a technical table read from the actual file. Seasons arrive as box sets, popular titles sit deeper on the shelf, and the clerk behind the counter searches by title, director, or genre and recommends from your catalog and watch history. Carry an armful to the checkout and she bags them in plastic that folds around the cases, receipt and all. A RomM connection opens a games department with platform-correct cartons and clamshells, while Jellyseerr requests appear as discovery cases you can order in-store. Drive it from the couch with a TV remote, gamepad, keyboard, or phone, or let attract mode tour the floor past the ceiling CRTs. Running on a dedicated VPS on RepoCloud with guaranteed CPU, RAM, and SSD, full root SSH access, and a browser serial console. GPL-3.0 licensed.

Benefits

  • Your Library, Physically Browsable
  • Jellyfin, Plex, and Emby libraries become walkable aisles with genre sections, so rediscovering a movie feels like browsing shelves again instead of scrolling another endless poster grid on TV night.
  • Cases You Can Pick Up
  • Every title is a proportioned VHS or DVD case with readable spines and a printed back showing synopsis, cast, runtime, ratings, and a technical table generated from the file's own media streams.
  • A Clerk Who Knows Stock
  • The counter clerk searches by title, director, or genre and recommends from your collections, directors, actors, studios, and watch history, with reasons drawn from the catalog rather than generic suggestions.
  • Couch-First on Every Screen
  • The same remote-first store runs on keyboard, gamepad, TV remote, phone, and first-person walk mode with mouse look and WebXR, so the living room TV needs no mouse gymnastics.

Features

  • Three Media Servers Connect
  • Sign in with Jellyfin, Plex code sign-in with server discovery, or direct Emby sign-in, bringing movies, series, artwork, versions, playback, resume points, and watch history into the store.
  • Games Department via RomM
  • A RomM connection turns enabled platforms into a dedicated department with cardboard cartons, clamshells, and jewel cases at platform-specific proportions, plus optional emulator launch on native builds.
  • Requests at the Counter
  • Jellyseerr, Overseerr, and Seerr connections let the clerk surface collection gaps and shelve discovery titles as request cases you can order without leaving the store.
  • Remote Play Streaming
  • The container renders a private store per visitor and streams it over WebRTC to phones and set-top boxes at /remote.html, with a shared mirror mode for machines with a display.
  • Make the Store Yours
  • Emblem Studio and the Brand Editor restyle name, colors, typeface, storefront, era, carpet, and shelving, and a release-date pin limits shelves to what your chosen store date would have carried.
