Storyden
Think of Storyden as running your own small Reddit, except the knowledge your community produces does not scroll away and die in the feed. Discussion happens in threaded forums organized by categories and tags, where posts collect replies, likes, emoji reactions, and saves into personal collections. Beside the chatter sits the Library, a tree of rich pages your members build together into wikis, directories, catalogs, and guides that stay findable. Library pages carry typed properties, attached files, and table views, so a car club can track vehicles as data instead of arguing over a spreadsheet. Threads can reference Library pages and pages can link back to threads, letting a great answer graduate into permanent knowledge. Optional AI assistance helps organize titles, tags, and summaries, while the recommendation engine surfaces posts each member is likely to care about. The first account registered becomes admin, roles and permissions govern who can post or moderate, and community settings live in the admin panel rather than config files. One container starts everything with an embedded database and local file storage, and OpenAPI documentation is served from the same address. Running on a dedicated VPS on RepoCloud with guaranteed CPU, RAM, and SSD, full root SSH access, and a browser serial console. MPL-2.0 licensed.
Benefits
- Chat that becomes knowledge
- Forum threads link both ways with curated Library pages, so the best answers graduate into a permanent, structured knowledge base instead of sinking under newer posts.
- Zero-dependency first run
- One container with an embedded database and disk storage runs a full production community, while PostgreSQL, S3, Redis, and OAuth remain options you enable later.
- Privacy without the banners
- No third-party trackers or cookie warnings are needed, email login is optional, passwords are Argon2 hashed, and no member data ever leaves your installation.
- Curation with real structure
- Typed properties, table views, tags, and submission queues turn member contributions into searchable directories and catalogs rather than an undifferentiated pile of posts.
Features
- Threaded discussion forums
- Categories and tags organize threads with replies, pinned posts, likes, emoji reactions, and personal collections, moderated through roles and permissions.
- Collaborative Library pages
- Members co-edit a tree of rich-text nodes with typed properties, file attachments, visibility controls, and data-table views of child pages.
- Optional AI assistance
- The Semdex engine recommends posts and can suggest titles, tags, locations, and summaries, importing pages directly from URLs when enabled.
- Admin without config files
- Rate limits, feature toggles, and appearance options live in the admin interface, adjustable live while infrastructure settings follow environment variables.
