Floci

Floci is a local AWS emulator you run on your own server so your code can use S3, queues, Lambdas, and dozens of other AWS services without an AWS account, an auth token, or a bill quietly growing in another tab. Point the AWS CLI, SDKs, Terraform, CDK, or OpenTofu at port 4566 and keep the workflows you already have; every emulated service answers on that one endpoint, in any AWS region or partition. Existing LocalStack projects can swap the container image and keep going, because Floci accepts the same endpoint style and many of the same environment variables. Where emulation is not enough, real services come along too: RDS, ElastiCache, MSK, Neptune, DocumentDB, ECS, EC2, EKS, and CodeBuild run through actual Docker execution rather than a shallow stub, so tests meet behavior closer to production. A browser console starts on demand and lets you inspect the buckets, queues, tables, and other resources your emulator holds, without another tool to install. There is no telemetry, no credit meter, and no CI restriction; the whole feature set is the free set, ready for a developer laptop, a shared test host, or a pipeline runner. Running on a dedicated VPS on RepoCloud with guaranteed CPU, RAM, and SSD, full root SSH access, and a browser serial console. MIT licensed.

Benefits

  • AWS Without The Account
  • No signup, auth token, telemetry, or paid tier stands between you and the emulator; pull the image and every emulated service answers on port 4566.
  • Your Toolchain Keeps Working
  • AWS SDKs, the CLI, Terraform, CDK, and OpenTofu point at one endpoint in any region, and LocalStack projects can swap the image and continue.
  • Real Backends Where It Matters
  • RDS, ElastiCache, MSK, Neptune, DocumentDB, ECS, EC2, EKS, and CodeBuild run through Docker execution, giving integration tests behavior closer to production.
  • Tiny Footprint, Fast Starts
  • The emulator starts in milliseconds-class time with a small image and low idle memory, so it fits laptops, shared test hosts, and CI runners alike.

Features

  • Single Endpoint Emulation
  • All AWS-shaped management APIs are served at port 4566 for SDK, CLI, Terraform, CDK, and test-suite calls, across any published AWS region and partition.
  • Browser Resource Console
  • A web console starts on demand as a sidecar on port 4500, letting you inspect buckets, queues, tables, and other resources held by the emulator.
  • Docker-Backed Real Services
  • Databases, caches, streaming, graph, container, Kubernetes, and build services execute through real Docker containers instead of pure API stubs.
  • LocalStack Migration Path
  • The endpoint style and common environment variables are accepted, so existing LocalStack Compose projects can replace the image and keep their workflows.
  • CI Friendly Operation
  • No credits, quotas, or usage restrictions apply in pipelines; additional proxy ports serve ElastiCache, RDS, Neptune, MWAA, and ECR workloads as needed.
