Platypus

Platypus gives a whole team always-on AI agents that reason, call tools, and keep working on your own servers while everyone is offline. Build an agent once by choosing a provider and model, writing its instructions, and capping its tool-calling loop, then reuse that preset across chats and scheduled runs. Agents load reusable Skills on demand and delegate specialist work to sub-agents that appear to the parent as tools. Connect local and remote data through Model Context Protocol servers, or expose an agent to outside agents and chat platforms through A2A endpoints with a token per client. Triggers run agents on a cron schedule, as one-off jobs, or when workspace events such as a card moving on a board occur, and every run records its result. Kanban boards give agents work they can move and update themselves, while notifications and HMAC-signed webhooks push board and workspace events into your own systems with filtering and retries. Facts and preferences are extracted from conversations in the background and injected into future chats, so returning users are remembered. Sandbox backends give agents shell and filesystem access inside an isolated per-workspace environment instead of the host. Organizations and workspaces keep each team's agents and data separate, and blueprints package shared agents, skills, MCP servers, and providers so a new workspace starts pre-equipped. Running on a dedicated VPS on RepoCloud with guaranteed CPU, RAM, and SSD, full root SSH access, and a browser serial console. MIT licensed.

Benefits

  • Agents Work While You Sleep
  • Cron, one-off, and workspace-event triggers start agents server-side and record each result, so research, triage, and reporting jobs finish overnight without a laptop staying awake to run them.
  • Your Models, Your Infrastructure
  • Connect OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Bedrock, OpenRouter, Ollama, vLLM, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint per agent, keeping internal data on infrastructure you control instead of a vendor cloud.
  • Teams Stay Isolated By Design
  • Organizations and workspaces separate agents, chats, boards, and memory between teams, while blueprints package shared agents, skills, MCP servers, and providers for one-step workspace setup.
  • Agents Act, Not Just Chat
  • MCP tool sets, reusable skills, sub-agent delegation, sandboxed shell access, kanban tools, and signed webhooks let agents move cards, run commands, and update your systems end to end.

Features

  • Agents, Skills, Sub-Agents
  • Pin a provider, model, instructions, and max tool steps into a reusable agent, attach skills it loads on demand, and delegate to sub-agents exposed as tools.
  • MCP And A2A Connectivity
  • First-class Model Context Protocol support connects agents to local and remote data sources, while A2A endpoints expose agents to outside agents with per-client tokens.
  • Cron And Event Triggers
  • Schedule agents on cron, fire them once, or trigger them from workspace events such as board card moves, with every run's instruction and result recorded.
  • Sandboxed Agent Execution
  • Agents get shell and filesystem access inside an isolated per-workspace sandbox with pluggable Docker and SSH reference backends, keeping execution away from the host system.
  • Boards, Memory, Webhooks
  • Agents move kanban cards, remember facts extracted from past chats, post workspace notifications, and emit HMAC-signed webhooks with per-event filtering and automatic retries.
  • Docker Compose Stack
  • One installer brings up a Next.js frontend, Hono backend, and PostgreSQL 17 with pgvector, seeding an initial organization and admin user on first boot.
