Appsmith

Admin panels, database GUIs, dashboards, approval flows, customer support consoles - Appsmith builds the internal tools your team keeps postponing, on an open-source low-code platform. The UI assembles from 45+ drag-and-drop widgets - tables with server-side pagination and inline editing, charts, forms, lists, buttons - which bind to data through {{ }} JavaScript expressions anywhere in the editor. Datasources cover PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, MS SQL, Redis, Snowflake, and more, plus any REST or GraphQL API, with SaaS integrations and AI query support for prompt-based steps inside apps. When the widget library falls short, custom widgets are plain JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, and external JS libraries can be imported, which keeps the platform extensible where pure no-code tools hit walls. Git-based version control enables branch-based collaboration, review, and rollback of app definitions. Queries and JS objects hold the business logic layer between datasources and UI. Self-hosted via Docker or Kubernetes, with role-based access control for published apps.

Corteza screenshot thumbnail

Corteza

Salesforce's platform model, 100% open-source (Apache 2.0): Corteza is a Go/Vue.js low-code platform developed under a foundation, so there is no open-core bait to grow out of. The heart is Corteza Compose: namespaces contain applications, modules define record structures the way Salesforce objects do, and a drag-and-drop page builder assembles record pages, list pages, dashboards, and charts from configurable blocks. Automation comes from a visual, BPMN-style workflow engine plus JavaScript automation scripts, so cross-application business logic - approval chains, field updates, notifications - is configured rather than programmed. Granular role-based permissions reach down to individual modules, fields, and records, mirroring real organizational hierarchies. Corteza CRM ships as the flagship application built entirely on Compose: leads, accounts, opportunities, campaigns, and cases with a 360-degree customer view, covering most Salesforce standard objects - and because it is just a Compose app, adding or reshaping modules is configuration, not a fork. Everything is reachable over REST APIs, deliberately familiar tooling eases Salesforce admin migration, and a CLI can even generate synthetic records for load-testing what you build.

ToolJet screenshot thumbnail

ToolJet

Retool's job, self-hosted: ToolJet is an open-source low-code platform for building internal tools, dashboards, and admin panels. Apps are assembled in a drag-and-drop visual builder with 60+ responsive components, including tables, charts, forms, and lists, and connected to 80+ data sources: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, REST and GraphQL APIs, cloud storage, and common SaaS tools. When visual configuration is not enough, you can run JavaScript or Python inline for queries and transformations. A built-in no-code database (ToolJet Database) covers apps that need their own tables without provisioning an external database, Workflows add node-based automation for background jobs with dedicated worker containers and a Redis-backed queue, and multi-page apps with multiplayer editing, inline comments, and mentions support team development. Security is designed for internal data: credentials are AES-256-GCM encrypted, data flows proxy-only through your server so database contents never reach a third-party cloud, and granular per-app access control plus SSO gate each tool. Where Retool-style platforms bill per builder and sometimes per end user, the self-hosted Community Edition serves unlimited builders and users at hosting cost, and full source availability means the platform itself can be forked, audited, and extended. The stack is Node.js and React on PostgreSQL, deployed via Docker.

Saltcorn

Spreadsheets and old Access databases give way to custom business apps that a team builds itself in a browser with Saltcorn, a no-code database application builder. Tables hold related records with typed and calculated fields, and CSV files import straight into them. Views start from patterns such as list, show, edit, filter, kanban, calendar, gantt, map, and chart, then take shape on a drag-and-drop canvas with a layers tree and desktop, tablet, and mobile previews. A view can embed another view, so clicking a row narrows the others and builds a cross-filtering dashboard with no glue code. Triggers react to row changes, schedules, logins, and API calls, while visual workflows branch, loop, and pause for a person's form before resuming days later. An AI copilot drafts tables, pages, and workflows from a plain-language prompt. The same views also become native Android and iOS apps with offline mode, PDF or image documents, and responsive emails. Every table, view, and page carries a minimum user role, and an auto-generated REST API exposes the data. Packs such as project management and an address book start an app from a ready template. SQLPage screenshot thumbnail

SQLPage

If you can write a SELECT statement, you can publish a working web app with SQLPage, where each query's results appear on the page as tables, charts, maps, or forms. A .sql file is a page. Name a component in the first row, and the rows after it become lists, cards, data grids, timelines, or step trackers. Tables offer searching, sorting, frozen headers, and per-row edit and delete buttons. Charts cover line, area, bar, pie, scatter, bubble, and heatmap views with a one-click CSV export. Forms feed INSERT and UPDATE statements directly, with validation and file uploads. A complete CRUD tool takes a handful of queries. The map component plots markers and GeoJSON shapes, and the JSON component lets the same data serve other systems as an API. Protect private pages with password logins or single sign-on through Google, Microsoft, or your own identity provider. Connect to SQLite, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or ODBC sources such as DuckDB, Oracle, Snowflake, and BigQuery. Tabs, modals, alerts, breadcrumbs, and carousels shape multi-page sites, and custom templates, CSS, and JavaScript fill any gap. Running on a dedicated VPS on RepoCloud with guaranteed CPU, RAM, and SSD, full root SSH access, and a browser serial console. MIT licensed.

REI3 screenshot thumbnail

REI3

Replace the spreadsheet that quietly runs your department with a proper multi-user application that you design in a browser with REI3, a self-hosted low-code platform. Authors define their data model once, then assemble forms, lists, calendars, Gantt plans, Kanban boards, and charts around it, with form states that show, hide, or require inputs as a record moves through its workflow. Calendars create records from a drag-selected time range, Kanban cards change state by drag and drop, and bulk-update forms edit hundreds of records at once. Phones scan barcodes and QR codes through the camera, and signature pads capture drawings. Roles and record-level access policies decide who sees what, sign-in runs through LDAP, OpenID Connect, or multi-factor authentication, and end-to-end encryption keeps selected fields unreadable even to administrators. REST endpoints work in both directions, ICS feeds publish calendars, CSV moves data in bulk, and IMAP and SMTP accounts connect applications to email. A drag-and-drop PDF editor produces letterheads, labels, and documents with signatures and barcodes. More than a dozen free ready-made applications, including tickets, time tracking, IT assets, a password safe, and a CRM, install from the admin panel. Running on a dedicated VPS on RepoCloud with guaranteed CPU, RAM, and SSD, full root SSH access, and a browser serial console. MIT licensed.
